2011 Cirrem Gravel 100k

On Saturday it was time to start the race year and what better way to start than a 100k Gravel Race in Des Monies, IA. The weather kinda sucked, there were flurries all day long that caused everything to freeze or have a layer of ice on it. Glasses where ice cover after 10 miles. My shoes where ice cover after 20 miles and the complete body was covered in ice after 30 miles. It was a good thing I had layers on and was ready for the conditions. I felt strong for the first 30 miles of the race. My legs where fresh and I was 5 minutes of behind the leaders. Due to the weather I had no fluid....

Great Triathon Article

This is a great article for anyone looking at doing their first Triathlon.   In my training for the XTERRA Off-road Triathlon on August 15th I started searching for a guide or site to help me out in my training.  I believe I found it with www.beginnertriathlete.com.  The site is a great resource for information, product reviews and stories.  Reading through the site I came to the conclusion of a few things. 1) I have no idea what I'm in for. 2) I may not be ready for this. 3) I'm not training enough or training right for my event 4) I do not have the right equipment to do this 5)...
