2011 was a great year with me, my family, and my hobby bike riding/racing. 2012 looks to be bigger and better. I have some goals I want to achieve, nothing to crazy, but I want to be better than I was last year.
Last night I signed up for my first race of 2012. My first race of 2012 is going to be the CIRREM 100k gravel race. I did this race last year and hated every second of it. It was cold, snowy, freezing rain and I had no water due to it being frozen. Why in the hell do I want to do it again? Simple answer is I can do better!

I just completed my first 100 mile bike race. I just completed my first major bike race. I just missed my goal. I just got motivation for 2012 and set some high expectations for myself.
The race went according to plan from the start until the Pipeline climb. I broke, the climb mentally kicked my ass and brought me to my knees. Once over the climb my goal of a sub 9 hour finish was out the window, but I still pushed hard to the finish to set a good time that I can set as a goal to beat in 2012.

I would like to introduce Willow to our family. She is the most beautiful Boston Terrier that I have ever seen. She is a rescue and was brought to us for a reason. You may ask do we really need another dog and I will say yes. No reason why, but this my doing and she is going to be my spoiled little angel.

It was a beautiful weekend in Breckenridge for a bike race. The sun was out and the race started at 10:30 which made it a great morning. Woke up, had my food, coffee, and rest room break. All was well in life.
The race started with a nice road climb that lead to a clustered section of single track. My goal was to get with the lead group into the singletrack so I would not have to deal with the traffic.
