Weekend Progress

// July 21st, 2008 // No Comments » // House

This past weekend was a busy and hot.  As the plumbing was in the home stretch I began to rip out my floors that were damaged with water.  This was a painful event since it was less than 3 years ago I killed myself to install and pay for these floors.  It was humbling and sad.  The image below was the floors when they were first installed.

Update on the Electrical… Having family is great.  Josh was over and helped me with my lighting design.  I’m happy to mark this off my list.  Next steps are Insulation and Drywall!!!!

Plumbing Update

// July 15th, 2008 // No Comments » // House

We are in the process of picking out new plumbing stuff for the repair of the bath rooms and the newly added master bath room.

Two words… “Holy Cow” this crap is expensive. Not to brag, but I have taste beyond my budget and its hard to settle for average stuff when I see the trendy expensive items all shiny and blingy. Thanks to another family connection we are getting some cool stuff. My Brother-In law who is doing the plumbing exposed Aimee and I to a wonderful place for Plumbing. Briggs Plumbing Supplies has the coolest stuff available today and with the family connection we are getting a good.. um, great deal on fixtures. Brushed nickle is awesome looking.

Now for the Vanities. Again, the budget is getting in the way of my creative ways, but we are thinking outside the box. One stop to NFM and I come home with a complete vanity for the hall bathroom and a end table for the master bath. Yes i said end table. You’ll see the outcome, I’m not losing my mind.. Yet. I can’t forget the great clearance sales at Lowes. Designer vessel sink, retail $399.95, clearance marked $59.95. That is a great deal, but it gets better, Final price 23.95. Unreal savings are out there is you look hard enough.

Bathrooms items are all purchased and they are going to look better than I could ever imagined.

Cold Air has never felt better!

We have air moving through the house and its cold! Thanks to my Brother Brian for the awesome selection and installation of our new Heat Pump and Furnace. One small step closer to move in ready!

When the tree landed on our house it smashed our A/C. I’m kinda excited that happened, it was on its last leg!

To the great people at Farm Credit Services of America. My family and I would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the kind thought and gifts that we received. The kids are very excited to use the passes for FunPlex, Pizza Machine, The Movies, Putt-Putt Golf, Children’s Museum and everything else. We will be documenting the events when we use the gifts.

To the Systems team. The idea of Home Cooked meals is awesome. My family is excited to break bread in the hotel room instead of a restaurant. We thank you for the support.

Roof… Done

// July 7th, 2008 // No Comments » // House

The roof is completed and its looks great. The best part of the rebuilding process is making this suck less. Problem, we have limited space in the 2 story for bedroom home. Solution, Convert small room and a large room into a single master suite with vaulted veiling. With the help of my cousin Mark we replace all 16 rafters with 2×8’s and vaulted the bedroom, newly added master bath and walk-in closet.

This is exciting stuff! The images are coming shortly
